SUGARCREEK, OHIO (June 16, 2008) – ProVia Door received two awards from the Tuscarawas Valley Safety Council in recognition of the company's outstanding achievement in their safety record.

The Safety Council's Achievement Award is given to companies who decrease their lost-time incident rate by 25% or greater. ProVia Door reduced their incident rate by an astounding 77% as compared to the prior year, earning them this award. Additionally, the Special Award was given to ProVia Door by the Safety Council for exceeding 500,000 hours with no lost time accidents.

According to ProVia Door's Corporate Safety Director, Chad Yoder, "This achievement is particularly notable given the amount of employees we have. We only had one lost time injury in 2007; however, we believe one incident is still one too many. Factors leading to this one incident were quickly remedied, and our safety team continues to proactively identify and address potential safety hazards before anyone gets hurt. Our goal is an incident rate of 0 injuries."

Yoder continued by emphasizing the fact that employee involvement in the company's safety program is at an alltime high, and if it weren't for each individual taking personal responsibility to make safe decisions they would not have achieved this recognition.

Last year ProVia Door's Walnut Creek facility earned the Star Award from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for meeting the highest standards of their Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). The Star status is VPP's highest recognition. The company's Sugarcreek facility is currently involved in the VPP Program, with the goal of becoming a Star site as well.
