SUGARCREEK, OHIO (June 17, 2008) – ProVia Door has challenged their employees for the past 16 months to focus on personal wellness. Throughout this time period, specific opportunities were sponsored by the company to help individuals achieve personal goals of weight loss, improved cholesterol levels, fitness, and smoking cessation, resulting in notable improvement in personal health.

In February of 2007, the company retained the services of Dr. Kindra Browning of Wellness Options in New Philadelphia to help launch and manage their Wellness Program. Shortly after implementing the program Wellness Options led each employee through a Personal Wellness Profile, which helped identify health-risk areas, and reinforced areas that were satisfactory.

Under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), no personal health information may be shared with ProVia Door. However, Wellness Options was able to provide aggregate data to the company which identified overall higher-risk areas. Dr. Browning then made recommendations of various programs to offer employees.

Among these programs, employees had the opportunity to participate in a Walking program, Weight-Loss program, Smoking Cessation program and a Holiday 3-Pound Challenge. Periodic educational forums were available to employees during their lunch break. In these forums, Nutritionists, Exercise Physiologists, and Pharmacist's discussed their particular field of expertise. Dr. Browning's goal for these forums is to educate people about today's health-related issues and choices they must make, thus creating wiser and healthier consumers.

Recently, the company marked their one-year anniversary in the Wellness Program by asking employees to complete their second Personal Wellness Profile. Notable improvements were made across the board. According to Dr. Browning, 40% more people get adequate aerobic exercise as compared to last year, 54% fewer people use nicotine, 9% fewer people carry excess body weight, and 46% fewer people have high cholesterol.

Bill Mullet, President & CEO of ProVia Door said, "We care about our people. God has given each of us only one body, and we need to take care of it. If each individual would take personal responsibility in this area, we would live healthier, more productive lives with which we might better serve God and each other."

Plans for year-two of the Wellness Program include continuing to support the wellness initiatives that have already been started along with introducing new opportunities to promote healthy living such as the "ProVia Decathlon" and a "Know Your Medications" campaign.
