Sugarcreek, OH [March 3, 2009] – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded ProVia Door a 2009 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award in door manufacturing in recognition of its continued leadership in protecting our environment through energy efficiency. ProVia Door's accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 31, 2009.

ProVia Door, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2002, will be honored for its long-term commitment to energy efficiency by producing doors that earn the ENERGY STAR. This is the fourth consecutive year for the company to earn an ENERGY STAR award.

"ProVia Door is dedicated to helping protect the environment through our durable, energy efficient entry doors," said Bill Mullet, ProVia Door's president. "Our long standing partnership with ENERGY STAR shows our organization's commitment to energy efficiency. We understand that partnering with ENERGY STAR is an important step in protecting the planet God has entrusted to us."

"EPA is delighted to recognize ProVia Door with the 2009 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence award," said Kathleen Hogan, Director of the Climate Protection Partnerships Division at the U.S. EPA. "ProVia Door's leadership in energy efficiency has yielded impressive results for their bottom line and our global environment, showing us all what can be accomplished through sustained commitment and action."

Across the U.S., top companies and organizations are continuing to promote energy efficiency through participation in ENERGY STAR. Last year alone, Americans with the help of ENERGY STAR saved $19 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of 29 million vehicles.

The 2009 Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a select group of organizations that have exhibited outstanding leadership year after year. ProVia Door is honored to be the only organization to earn this prestigious award in the category of Door Manufacturing. Award winners have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by setting and achieving aggressive goals, employing innovative approaches, and showing others what can be achieved through energy efficiency. These awards recognize ongoing leadership across the ENERGY STAR program including energy-efficient products, services, new homes and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors. Award winners are selected from more than 12,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
